Directions to Cranehaven Bed & Breakfast

NOTE:  Google Maps & GPS directions are WRONG!. Cranehaven B & B property address is 52 Adel Loop, but our road is often mislabeled as Drain Ditch Rd. or as Valley Loop road on these devices/maps.  If you input and follow the GPS directions to our address, you will most likely not find us. We are in the process of getting changes made but, in the meantime, the directions below are correct and will get you to Cranehaven B & B. And always feel free to call us and ask us to meet you at either the Lemitar or the San Acacia exits (or wherever you might be) and we will be happy to successfully lead you to Cranehaven B & B.

Driving South (e.g. from Albuquerque):  Exit I-25 at San Acacia, Exit # 163
  • At top of exit ramp, turn Left (East) to cross I-25 overpass.
  • Turn Right (South) onto the I-25/Polvadera Frontage Rd. and go 2.8 miles. [The road is not specifically signed, but you'll see a green sign with "Polvadera" and an arrow pointing Right (South).]
  • At the Y in the road, keep left to continue going south on Polvadera Rd. for approximately another 1 1/2 miles
  • Turn Left (East) onto Valley Loop Rd [this is a black gravel road that crosses over a small irrigation ditch] for about a 1/4 mile - this will take you to a T intersection.
  • At the intersection, turn Right (South) [no sign post].  Pass by the 1st driveway to your left (you will see a metal water storage tank on south side of that driveway) and continue South for about another 1/4 mile. Take next left turn to East, taking you up over a small, flat bridge crossing the irrigation canal.  At the base of the irrigation canal, you will be heading East on Adel Loop.
  • Continue heading East on Adel Loop for another 1/4 mile.  Cranehaven B & B (52 Adel Loop) is the 2nd house on your left.   Enter thru'  turquoise gate and drive up to house.  Park in front of the house, by the pampas grass.  We will be there to welcome you and show you to your room(s).  [Google maps need to be updated - Google names this road Drain Ditch Rd. but it is actually Adel Loop.]
Driving North (e.g. from Socorro):   Exit I-25 at  Lemitar, Exit # 156
  • At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn Right (East) on Calle De Lemitar [not signed] and go ~345 ft. [You will cross a cattle-guard]
  • Turn Left (North) onto the I-25 Frontage Road.  Continue north for about 2 miles.  As you go, you will pass Midway Rd. on your right which has a school styled like a large barn.   A short way thereafter, you will pass a gravel pit on your right.  Soon after you will pass a small, green 2-mile marker on your right.   About 50 ft. beyond the 2-mile marker sign, you will come to black gravel road to your right. Turn Right (East) on this road.  On your left is a decorative metal sign that says Bustamante Farms. Soon after, you will see a small, green road sign on your left that says Valley Loop Road. Continue following this road heading East.  Soon, you will see a small, irrigation canal on your right. On your left, you will see a small brown house with a windmill and a fenced cow pasture.  As you keep driving East a very short distance more, you will cross over the main north-south irrigation canal, running perpendicular to your direction of travel.  Continue East across this canal, traveling over a simple, flat bridge spanning the canal.  In rainy weather or in the dark of night, avoid the risk of slipping off the road into the canal. Under these conditions, It is best NOT TO TURN LEFT ONTO THE UPPER DIRT ROAD THAT RUNS ADJACENT TO THE CANAL, but instead, fully pass over the canal, coming down to the  lower unpaved road that runs parallel along the base of the canal above.  Turn Left (North) onto this unpaved road.  You will see the canal is above you on your left.  Although these unpaved farm roads carry very little vehicular traffic, you should be aware that both north and south-heading traffic use these single-lane farm roads, so proceed with caution. Continue heading north on this road for approx. 1/4 mi. until you meet an intersecting dirt road (west end of Adel Loop)  Turn Right (East).
  • Continue to head East on Adel Loop for another 1/4 mile.  Cranehaven B & B (52 Adel Loop)  is on your left.  There is turquoise ranch gate and a gatepost sign saying Cranehaven Bed & Breakfast.  Enter through the gate, proceed up the drive, park in front of the house, by the large pampas grasses.  We will be there to greet you.  (Google maps need to be updated -Google names this road segment, Drain Ditch Rd but it is actually  Adel Loop).
